Robert D. Wilcox, M.D., is Director of The Plastic and Cosmetic
Surgery
Center
of Texas. After graduating from Texas A&M University Magna Cum
Laude, he attended The University of Texas Southwestern
Medical School in
Dallas, graduating in 1984 near the top of his class. After
medical school, Dr. Wilcox completed eight years
of resident training
in three specialties. He trained in General Surgery at The
University of Florida from 1984 through 1989 and then returned to
Dallas for his Plastic Surgery training at Southwestern Medical
School.
Dr. Wilcox entered private practice in Plano and North
Dallas in 1992, though he remains active in the teaching of Plastic
Surgery as Clinical Assistant Professor at Southwestern Medical
School. He was awarded The American Medical Association's
Physician Recognition Award. Dr. Wilcox remains updated with
the latest techniques in plastic and cosmetic surgery by regularly
attending medical seminars, workshops, and conferences.
Dr. Wilcox has the unusual distinction of Board
Certification in three specialties, including Plastic Surgery,
General Surgery, and Hand and Microsurgery. This extra
training provides important expertise in surgery of all parts of the
body. He is a member of The American Society of Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgeons, International Society of Hair Restoration
Surgery, Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dallas Society of
Plastic Surgeons, and numerous other medical organizations.
